But… showing the address to a taxi driver won’t get you to the guest house. Over here we don’t use street names to explain where we want to go (most streets don’t even have a name), but we tell the taxi driver the name of the area and well-known buildings in the neighborhood. Therefore, we suggest printing out the directions written below:

Orange Lion Guest House is located in a new area of Addis Ababa called ‘Gurd Shola’, nearby the ‘Athletic Federation’ and ‘Beshale Hotel’ (most taxi drivers will know to find this). If you pass the ‘Beshale Hotel’ on your right hand side, you need to take the first street on your right. On the corner is the ‘Athletic Federation’. Near the end of this road you will find Orange Lion Guest House on your right.

It’s a 10 – 20 minute drive from Bole Airport and the city center, depending on the traffic.
